Born in 1998 in the city of Antakya, Bora Selim grew up surrounded by the rich history and diverse cultures of his hometown, known for its deep multicultural heritage. Antakya, or Antioch as it was once called (yup, that’s where we got our name from!), was more than just his hometown—it was the heart of his inspiration.
Bora Selim’s academic journey took him to Istanbul and Berlin, where he studied software engineering, and later to Madrid and Barcelona, where he earned a Master’s degree in Marketing.
During his world tour in 2020, driven by a desire to share his hometown’s story with the world, Bora Selim founded Antioch’s Studios. The brand was born out of his love for the city and its cultures—a way to carry a piece of his home with him wherever he went. For him, it was about blending the old with the new and sharing it with a global audience.
He draws inspiration from his multicultural background, which mirrors the rich diversity of his home. With Turkish, Arab, Armenian, Kurdish and Greek influences, his work reflects the unique blend of traditions and cultures that have shaped both his identity and the spirit of his hometown.
In 2023, after the earthquake that devastated Antakya, Bora faced many doubts and internal struggles but refused to give up on Antioch’s Studios — the only connection he had left to his past. His commitment to rebuild through the brand only grew stronger, transforming it into a living tribute to his beloved city. Through Antioch’s Studios, he continues to share the spirit of his home with the world.
